It’s almost spring!!!! It is starting to get warmer outside, and plants and trees are starting to bud. I am so excited for the change of season and all the new experiences it brings. This also makes me excited to make a new front door decoration! I didn’t want to do a wreath because that seems to be my go-to when I make something for my front door. It is fun to change with the seasons and make new decor. There doesn’t seem to be a lot of crafting time for me lately, so doing this was fun.
I picked up all my supplies at Michaels and went home to get to work. Below is a picture of what I picked up from Michaels and then listed are the items I used from my house.

What I gathered to use
Scissors
Lighter
Hot glue gun & glue stick
Foam Floral Brick
Paint and Brushes for Bee
Time to Assemble

First, I put the foam brick in the bottom of the basket and added the long grass stem to it. I then added the tulip flowers, layering forward from the grasses.

Once that was together, I measured the ribbon around the basket and cut it to overlap in the back. To prevent the ribbon from fraying, I used a lighter and seared the edges so they wouldn’t fray. I cut 2 pieces of ribbon the same size and seared the ends of both pieces. The second piece will be used at a later step.

Now, use the glue gun to apply small dots in the center of the front. Wrap the ribbon around while applying small dots of hot glue to secure it to the basket. I did one side at a time to make sure it was as even as it could be while I was laying the ribbon down.

Grab the second piece of ribbon to create a bow and hot glue it to the basket. I wanted to make sure it wouldn’t blow around in the wind, so I glued the loose ribbons down.

These are the paints I used to paint my bee. White was used to paint the outer part of the wood.

I used the hot glue gun and placed a small dot on the inside top of the basket and attached the bee’s string to it. Then, I put a layer of glue over the string to help it stick.

And, all finished!! It makes me think warmer thoughts, and I am ready for spring! This is a simple DIY project that took me less than 20 minutes to put together. I definitely think this adds a touch of spring to the air. You can mix and match whatever flowers you love the most and ribbon to match. This is only a visual for you to create your own and personalize it how you would like. I hope it has brought some inspiration to you this season.
