Father’s Day is always great to celebrate all the dads in your life. But trying to think of gifts for them can seem difficult. I love to try to give something that isn’t necessarily an object, but a bonding experience or an alone experience. If you are in the thick of parenting like we are, then sometimes the best thing to give is time away to recharge. I put together some ideas that aren’t expensive and can be great things to gift dad as a show of appreciation.
We appreciate the dads in our lives!
Gifts Ideas to Give Dad Time Away

Alone Time
Give dad time away from the kids. Let him feel like himself again without the kids around. Take the kids to the park or similar to give dad time at home. Send dad away to go do something he likes just himself.
Friend Time
Set up with friends to have him hang out or go to lunch with someone he hasn’t had time to catch up with. This is a thoughtful gift for both parties.
Golf
My husband loves to golf and whether he is able to golf with his own father, with friends, or alone, he will enjoy his time on the course.
Go Fishing
If he likes to fish then this would be a great time to have him go and enjoy himself.

Get a Massage
Send Dad to a spa for a massage to relax and loosen his muscles.
Things to do Together with Dad
Game Night
Plan a time to play board games together and get the whole family involved. There’s a variety of board games you can get for the whole family to play, like this.
Escape Room
Get the family together to try an escape room and see how quick you can get out.

Go for a Bike Ride
Head to the park as a family and enjoy a bike ride and scenery together.
Show Dad Your Appreciation
Wash and Detail His Car
My mother-in-law talks to this day that it has been her favorite gift from my husband, when he did it for her on Mother’s Day. A clean and fresh car is a wonderful gift. While it may take longer, have the kids help and get them involved in cleaning it as well. My son has decided that we will do this for my husband on Father’s Day!
Make His Favorite Meal
While kids can be messy, the memories they will have when making dad his favorite meal and presenting it to him will stay with them forever. This will show dad how you appreciate and love him.
Make a Homemade Card
Get all the craft supplies out and let the kids go to town on making Dad a personalized card for Father’s Day.
Create a Coupon Book
Either from you or the kids, the book can be sweet, silly, or creative to give dad some things he can claim at a later date. Example: date night with mom, 20 minutes alone, back rub, kids cook, dad gets the TV for the night. You can make one or grab one like this to fill in.
Personalized Gift
Whether you find something that you can order or make something that will be just for dad, this is a great idea to get something just for him. This is an idea of a personalized gift.
Hopefully, these are some ideas that you can incorporate for the dads in your life. While it’s a great day to show extra appreciation for dad, hopefully you can show him throughout the year as well. Wishing all the dads out there a great Father’s Day!
