It’s finally spring! I am so excited about the change of season now into spring. Everything is coming back to life outside and the weather is getting warmer. This also means that it is time to spring clean the house! I do love this time of year. After being cooped up in the house all winter, it is time to open the windows and remove all the dust. I like to have a plan when I want to tackle my spring cleaning. This checklist I created is to help me get to things that I typically don’t do. I will do my usual cleaning then another day I will plan to get to the items on the list, it helps me to have it down so I don’t forget items or get distracted by other things.
Have Your Plan
Will you tackle it all in one day?
Will you plan for 1 room a day until the list is down?
There are many ways to plan your spring cleaning to fit your schedule. Don’t get overwhelmed looking at the list and thinking you need to complete it all in 1 day. It would be amazing if you could but you would be exhausted. And hopefully, you’d have help as well to get it all done. Figure out your schedule and pick 1 room or even just 1 thing from the list to help prepare your house for spring.

I created this list not to have my normal cleaning on it for a reason. The items on the list to clean are ones that I don’t clean in my weekly cleaning. These are items that I will deep clean throughout the year, typically at season change. Below, I list a few items that I like to use while cleaning.
Products I Like to Use
- O Cedar Mop Spin Bucket -I love this bucket and mop! There are different attachments you can get as well to be able to clean different surfaces as well.
- Zep pH Floor Cleaner – We have LVP(Luxury Vinyl Plank) flooring and this cleaner is great for cleaning it. It’s not too harsh on it so it won’t destroy the material.
- Swiffer 3FT Duster – If you need to get dust bunnies stuck on the ceiling or in corners, then I recommend this. You won’t have to bend or over reach to get those pesky bunnies hanging about.
- Ceiling Fan Blade Duster – We had one of these when I was growing up and I had to get one when I moved out. It is a game changer to easily clean the fan blades!
- Microfiber Cleaning Towels – These are easy to use and you can just toss them in the wash once dirty
- Baking Soda – This is something I always have on hand but it is a great addition while cleaning. Sprinkle this on your carpet, rug, or mattress and let sit for 15 minutes or more and vacuum up. This will help eliminate odors.
- White Distilled Vinegar – What a great cleaner this is! Put some in a bag and wrap it around your faucet or showerhead, let sit for 45 minutes or more. Once removed, it will have helped clean the faucet/head.
I hope some of these will help you prepare for your spring cleaning. It always makes me feel so good to have windows open, the house clean and the winter staleness gone. I have also decluttered some as well. If you want to start decluttering, start by going through your cabinets/ pantries or your drawers to get rid of clothes you haven’t worn in a year or 2. Good luck on your cleaning, whether you want to tackle your spring cleaning in a day or spread it out for a few items a day. The change of season is always something to celebrate.
